HATS OFF TO CHEMO LAUNCHES COMMUNITY AMBASSADOR PROGRAM

Seeking enthusiastic volunteers

Shakespeare, ON – Hats Off to Chemo today announced a new Community Ambassador Program to raise awareness of this free service, which provides hats to children and adults undergoing chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

The non-profit organization is seeking volunteer ambassadors to raise awareness of the service amongst private and public organizations in their community and to serve as a liaison for organizations looking to support the organization through a display of information or a donation of hats.

“The Community Ambassador Program is a fantastic opportunity for volunteers to support a great cause and at the same time, develop valuable communication and public presentation skills,” said Tammy Burton, Director, Hats Off to Chemo. “There are no geographic limitations. As a global charity we are looking for ambassadors in all locations.”

The Community Ambassador Program is geared to raising awareness -- there are no fundraising expectations. Volunteers will receive training on the skills and responsibilities necessary to succeed.

“I chose to volunteer because anyone who has seen a friend or family member undergo chemotherapy understands the tremendous physical and emotional effects that accompany this type of treatment,” says Ian McMillan.  “A new hat not only fulfills a practical need for people undergoing treatment, it lets cancer patients know that people in the community care for them and are fighting along with them.”
